Imago Ep.II: Symmetry
In Side Out
Dance film screening
Vitruvian Thing, Ptolemaeon 29A, 4th floor, 54630, ThessalonikiVitruvian Thing closes its season programme with a screening of dance films:
Imago Ep.II: Symmetry
“The film is one of the most interesting cinematic philosophical visions we’ve encountered so far in our festival.”
“The director’s power to fantasise, abstractise and reconstruct (deconstruct) the world ideologically is outstanding.”
(TMFF review - best experimental award, Dec 16)
Imago returns for one more screening at Vitruvian Thing. The short dance film, directed by Dani Joss and produced by Die Wolke art group, has so far won the following awards:
Best experimental - TMFF, Glasgow
Best video dance - Athens International Digital Film Festival
Best of fest + Best experimental - Martinique International Film Festival
Best Narrative - Indiana Comic Con Film Festival
Nominated for best narrative - San Fransisco Comic Con Film Festival (July 17)
The short film defies genre and, in true experimental fashion, uses dance, narration, abstraction, and fantasy in its world. It has participated in festivals such as Veladas de Cine Y Danza (Chile), Tanzhafen (Austria), C-Screen (Spain), Imaginarium (USA), Miami Epic Festival, Los Angeles CineFest, Rollout (China), Prokuplje short film festival (Serbia), Delete-TV (London), Tampa Bay Comic Con Film Festival.

In Side Out
A triptych journey in search of a tension capable of restoring the fragmented nature of a “continuity constantly receding”. A physical and emotional experience of entering the “unknown” where discomfort and risk shape each response to external or internal stimuli. A process where music and movement are subject to a constant procedure of deconstruction and reconstruction.
The film participated with its first part at 2017’s Locus screening in Thessaloniki, and has also been screened at Dance on Screen (Austria), MATADAC (Spain), Addis video art fest (Ethiopia), Athens Video Dance Project (Greece), 30th Video Formes (France), FILE (Brazil), InShadow (Portugal), Pancaroba (Indonesia), and others. At Vitruvian Thing, all three parts will be shown.
Performance: Sara Marasso
Music: Stefano Risso
Camera: Fenia Kotsopoulou, Daz Disley
